Don’t stop children from playing!

Another report has been published which shows the sad increase in over-protectiveness by parents of their children.

Parents are increasingly denying children the opportunity to learn naturally, to enjoy life and to be children.  The consequences for those children are not just a more boring life today, but also less enjoyable and successful life as adults.  Climbing trees and similar games is a way of learning how to solve real life problems as well as building body-mind-spirit (emotion) connections and compatibility.

It is important for parents to be there for their children, but it is equally important to let them grow up.  Even at the tender age of 7 a human being has many faculties that allow them to survive, as is proven by young people in developing countries and even in rich countries a century ago.  If these abilities are not allowed to develop, the resulting adult will be less competent and less happy.  Let children play.
