Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean you can steal it.

A new ruling in the US Court of Appeals has confirmed that Artistic License copyright, used in open source software and creative commons licensing, is enforceable under federal law. While the use of the software may be free, if it is resold or repackaged, appropriate acknowledgement is required.
